Mr. Smiley

Parker is now at the stage where he is smiling alot, and not just because he is gassy. He is recognizing our voices, which is such a delight.

Week of a Young Child..

This week at Cerner Kids it is Week of a Young Child. On Monday there were photos placed around the Center that had the child's name, age, favorite food, favorite color and favorite book. Madisons information was as follows:

Name: Madison Elizabeth Rezac

Age: 20 months

Favorite Food: Fish Sticks and Mandarin Oranges

Favorite Color: Red (of course!)

Favorite Book: Any/All- Did include Five Silly Monkeys

Tuesday was breakfast with family and classmates. We had fresh fruit, bagels, muffins, coffee and milk. Madison had a blast sitting on dad's lap while eating her two muffins and banana. Parker sat on my lap and watched. On Tuesday afternoon I visited Madison's classroom as the "mystery" reader for the afternoon. We read, "The Very Hungry Caterpillar," "Chicka Chicka 1 2 3" and "The Book of Hugs." I had such a wonderful time. The kids were so energetic. Parker also attended, but stayed in the car seat sleeping.

Tonight is a family picnic. Tomorrow will be PJ day. Wish I could be back in school..just kidding...

Once we got home last night, Madison wanted to color. She is very artistic.

Cows....Moo.. and Dogs...Woof..

Madison enjoys making animal sounds. Her favorite is the cow. To the left of our house, there is a field that has cattle. She loves to sit at the dinner table and look at them. Since it was a decent day, she went outside with dad to see the cattle. She was so excited..Moo Moo and pointing is what she did. She also enjoyed looking at Parker's shirt as she said, "Woof." Parker was smiling..well maybe it was gas...either way he was still smiling.

Mother's Day basket....

Madison "made" this beautiful basket for me in honor of Mother's Day. The basket contained a card with a picture of Madison and I, a poem with Madison's finger prints as the flowers in the vase, recipes from her classmates, recipe holder, flower and flower pot, and homemade multi-berry muffins. This was such a wonderful surprise.

Well it seems the Chiropractor is helping Parker's colic and sleep patterns. We have one more visit and if all goes well, our future appointments will be every 4 months. Yeah!

Helen E. Johnson, 94, of Wahoo, formerly of Ceresco, widow of Clayton V., died May 1, 2010, in Wahoo. She was born December 17, 1915, in Cedar Bluffs , Neb. to Ira and Hazel (Nelson) Wolfe. She was a retired Registered Nurse having graduated Lincoln General Hospital School of Nursing in 1940. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Ceresco; Ceresco chapter O.E.S. #198.
Family includes daughters and sons-in-law: Barbara and Leroy Hanson of Ceresco; Sharon and Rene Remillard of Lincoln, R.I.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Edward Wolfe of Vancouver, B.C. She was preceded in death by parents, husband, son, Ronald, brother, Harold, sister, Jeanne Renegar.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday May 4, 2010, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Ceresco. Pastors Adam and Jordan Stubbendeck, officiating. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m., Monday at Metcalf Funeral Home, 245 North 27th Street, Lincoln, and one hour before services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice and Homecare of Saunders County; Stitching Smiles or Immanuel Lutheran Church, Ceresco.
