Halloween parade at CernerKids

Today was the CernerKids parade. Parker's class (Silly Seals was the first to parade) then it was Madison's class (Curious Cats the last to parade) and Madison was the very last person in the parade. Parker was a Gnome and Madison Princess Cinderella. Parker enjoyed his hat and beard for a short period of time. Fun was had by all and we ended up with many treats in all of our bags. Pre-Halloween enjoyment

Last weekend we took the kids to Faulkner's Ranch. They have a variety of activities in which we partook. Some of those activities were a petting zoo, pony rides, inflatables, corn cob launches, corn maze, tire (football throw), wagon rides, face painting, and etc. It was a beautiful day to enjoy all the activities. Madison was a pro when it came to the face painting. The lady who made the butterfly princess for Madison asked her to close her eyes and hold up her head, Madison did just that. Then in was time for purple lips, she "plumped" her lips. There were a few ladies behind me that were saying I can't believe she is staying so still and look at her with her lips. Parker just watched and enjoyed the sites.

I Bought a Pedometer

Recently, Cerner has been creating health challenges for it's associates. Last year they announced a weight loss challenge and the winning team got paid vacations to the carribbean. This year they have added additional challenges. One is a step challenge for teams of 6. So, I joined a team. I've signed myself up for 10,000 steps a day..... It sounded like a good idea at the time. I guess if I really struggle, I can always strap it to my kids. :)

Grandma and Grandpa's swingset

I realized we never made a post about Grandma and Grandpa R's new swingset.  After convincing Grandma R that the first swingset wasn't the right one (it looked and felt like it would fall apart), they went to Menards to buy one that will last.  The kids love it and have a blast playing in their back yard.   They can swing for hours..  Some pictures from our last couple of visits: 

Pumpkin Patch

Last Friday Cerner Kids spent the afternoon visiting Carolyn's Pumpkin Patch.  Unfortunately, Parker came down with a cold so Madison, Dad and Grandma H went to the patch by themselves.   Madison had a great time feeding the animals, going down the slides and running around with her friends.   We were not able to ride the train as it derailed from its tracks, but we did take a hay-rack ride to pick out our own pumpkins.  In addition to our own farming skills, we got 2 larger pumpkins for carving, a princess painted pumpkin for Madison and a little baby pumpkin for Parker that he called his ball.  A total of 6 in all.  We have plenty of pumpkins for the Holidays. 

Parker's First Haircut

Last Saturday, Parker had is first haircut.   No longer would the little guy have the mullet and his curly hair.   It was time for him to look like a little man.   So Jen, Grandma H and Grandpa H took Parker and Madison to get their haircuts.    Parker didn't like the experience at all, but Madison acted like she's done it 1000 times before.  Below are some pictures of the event.

Parker's First Ear of Corn

This past Sunday, Parker was riding with Grandpa Rezac when they picked an ear of corn from the field.  He was all smiles as he carried around his corn.  He also wanted to wear his hat each time he went outside.   I think he wants to live on a farm.
