My Sandwich...
When Madison has her bologna lunchable, she always make a sandwich with crackers. We encourage her to make a bologna sandwich. Well tonight at supper her sandwich was a cracker sandwich as she called it. Her sandwich contained 1 piece of bologna, 1 piece of cheese and 4 crackers. I believe the sandwich won. Madison offered the sandwich to Parker as he had his mouth open. Then Madison decided not to share with Parker. I am sure Parker was disappointed.

Big Sister and Little Brother
Madison loves Parker. She enjoys reading, talking to, playing, instructing, tickling and yelling at him. She has adjusted so well to the addition. Parker loves to hear her voice, her smile, her touch on his toes and face. He is not a fan of her screaming in delight, we all deal with it and be happy with her.

Parker's First Words
Monday night Parker spoke his first words. He said DaDa. At first Jen and I were not sure we heard it correctly, but a few seconds later he said it again. It was obvious to him that those words meant something to us....we couldn't hide our reaction. Since Monday, we have listened to DaDa each night... and into the night... and in the middle of the night... and the early morning..
But we can't complain. In addition to his reaching for things and trying to pull himself up, DaDa is a sign he's turning into a little toddler.

Catching up again...
We've had another busy week with a lot of activity. Last Saturday, I had to renew my driver's license (upcoming 35th B-day), so Madison and I took a wonderful trip to the DMV. I figured I would arrive when they opened (which I thought was 9am) to ensure there were no long lines. However, they opened at 8:30 am and there was no-one in line! Yippie we were in and out within 10 minutes. Madison kept busy with her dogs pinks, she was feeding him Kix! When my DL was ready, I told Madison its time to go bye-bye. We started to walk out the door, she turned around lifted her arm up and said, "Bye Friends." No one said anything..she was a bit sad..I told her its ok...
On Tuesday night, Madison and I were reading books together. She pulled out her farm animals book. In the book is a dog, she said, "Mommy, where's our doggie?" I said what, and she said, Mommy, "where's our doggie...SaSa." I told her that SaSa is sleeping...It's amazing that she still remembers him as he passed away in April. Amazing little memory...
Tonight before bed, Parker has been babbling a lot and I believe he said, DaDa...Yeah. In addition, he is sitting very well! Madison said her ABC's A-Z without a pause, then said, "I know ABC's, please sing with me!" Love it.

Two amazing children..
I did not realize what it meant to be a parent or what it would be like to be a parent until we had Madison and Parker. Each day is typically filled with learning experiences, love, laughs, tears, and challenges. We are so blessed to have two wonderful children. I did not realize how quickly the kids would develop characteristic of Darin and I. It's a pretty amazing experience that continues to keep routines and activities unique. For instance, this week Madison arrived at school, her routine is to wash her hands and eat breakfast. She loves her teachers and hugs them each morning. On Tuesday, Madison was looking for Ms. Teresa. When we arrived at her classroom, she said, "oh no..Ms. Teresa missing." She was almost in tears. Then she saw Ms.Teresa come around the corner, she ran to her and gave her a big hug. That evening, Madison watched the Dora Explorer episode related to the Three Little Pigs. I was feeding Parker and I noticed it was quite where she was watching TV. When I went in to see her, she had huge alligator tears running down her face. Apparently (I re watched the episode) the Wolf blew down the house, which made Madison sad. I told her it was ok and that the little pigs will have a new house.
Today, I took the kids to school. It was PJ day and of course they both needed to wear their Husker gear. Well as we were unloading the car, Ms. Teresa walked by and Madison saw her. Madison yelled with her arm in the arm, "No Stop Ms. Teresa." She just makes me laugh, she is very animated with her gestures, facial expressions and words, must be from her dad. When I picked her up today, her teacher said that Ella's mom was picking Ella up and said, "Ella you can have a Popsicle when we get home." Madison asked Ella's mom if she could go home with them for a Popsicle. The teachers just chuckled. Since it was PJ day, Madison took Pinks (her dog) to school. When she grabbed him to go home she said, "Go Pinks, Go Pinks, Go Pinks" and then it was, "Go Parker, Go Parker, Go Parker." The little man (Parker) just smiles and takes it all in. I believe he realizes he is going to have his hands full with his sister.
Parker had his conference this week as he will be moving to the Little Lambs room on Monday, October 11. It is amazing how quickly he is growing and his little smile just melts your heart. I had no idea how life would change in such a positive way with a wonderful husband and two amazing children. Thanks for giving me such a wonderful life.
