Ma Ma

This past weekend I decided to work with Madison on saying Ma Ma. On Saturday I held her on my lap and kept repeating the words. She'd stare at my lips and watch as I said the words over and over again. After a period of time, she started imitating my lip movement, which was very cute by the way.... On Sunday, I tried the same approach again. She tried imitating my lip movement, but then suddenly, she put sound to it. She said Ma Ma. Jen was thrilled. Madison realized this new word got positive responses and ended up saying Ma Ma all night. Two words down, millions more to go..

A weekend with no AC

On Thursday we turned on our air conditioning and found out it wasn't working. We had somebody come out on Saturday to fix our problem. Unfortunately for us, we had no freon. We had a leak. After about 1/2 hour of investigation, it turned out the leak was in the house and there was no way to repair the area that was leaking. In fact, to replace what needed to fixed was going to cost us about 50% of a brand new air conditioner. Tomorrow they are going to validate if our AC is still under warranty. We hope so. It wasn't too bad this weekend, but it was overcast and we had a breeze.

Time to lower my mattress...

After I put Madison down to sleep (on her back), I heard her giggling quite loudly. As I entered her room guess what I saw, but little M had pulled herself to a sitting position and was trying to pull herself up using the crib side rails. I know I shouldn't laugh, but she would not stop giggling..smart little thing. Darin is traveling this week, so this weekend, it will be time to lower M's mattress.

Time Out....

We'll it appears that Madison has master the concept Time Out... Just kidding, this is her preferred sleep position, it just makes me laugh...By the way..her socks say, "Daddy's Little Girl."

Husker POWER...HUSKER POWER....

On Saturday, Darin and I were two of the 77,670 attending the Nebraska Spring Game in Lincoln, Ne. We enjoyed pre-game activities, Skeeter Barnes BBQ, Athletic Development office presentation and video and the crowds swarming with RED!!! It's officially 138 Days or 3312 Hours or 198720 Minutes or 11923200 Seconds until game day!

Madison stayed with Grandma and Grandpa
H during the game. After the game, she spent some time with Grandma and Grandpa R.

Lincoln Nebraska

Today is UNL's spring game. We are hoping the rain holds off and the sun comes out, but either way we are excited about the "game". Jen's parents will watch Madison while we attend the game. I'm quite sure this they feel burdened about babysitting. =)

It will be nice to see some friends, relatives and a glimpse of the 2009 Huskers. I'm also hoping to use this as an excuse to buy a few more Nebraska items. I don't seem to have enough.

GO BIG RED!!

Opening Day at the K...

Friday was the Kansas City Royals home opener against the New York Yankees. Since Madison did not have school, we decided it would be great to have a family day at Kauffman Stadium (the K). We were anxious to see the "new" stadium. There were many renovations that occurred at the stadium- new seats, party deck, Slugger's areas (for kids), etc. We were really impressed with the amount of entertainment and the great view. The weather was decent..upper 50's to 60. Our seats were within the new area called Fountain Pavilion- Section 202. Madison had a great time, clapped for
Alex Gordon (former Husker) and lasted until the 5th inning. We were very pleased.

Once we got home, we were all tuckered out. Madison is showing you that she is #1. Maybe if I hold up the #1, it will change my position. We'll it's worth a try....

Just hanging out

Before all the bad weather hit KC, we had an opportunity to go for a walk with Madison and try our her new shades. She seemed to enjoy wearing them and going for a ride. Hopefully, the weather will return to "spring like" and we can use them again soon.

A call from school

This morning, Madison's school (Tiny Turtles) room called me. I always get so nervous when I receive a call from school. My first reaction is that something happened or she is sick. Well to my amazement they wondered if they could give Madison more vegetables. She finished her container of peas and appeared hungry for more. I gave the ok for more food. As long as Madison's happy she can eat more, she's a growing little girl. I really like those type of phone calls from school.
